Seungah Lee

As an artist, I am captivated by liminal spaces, which led me to start the ""Non-Place"" project. My practice focuses on creating immersive environments using 3D rendering software and animation techniques.

I explore spaces that employ visual strategies, functioning as societal anesthetics to idealize the state, such as pastel tones, kitschiness, and retro-futuristic design elements. This emphasizes the large-scale, innovative forms in architecture to envision a new future. Such buildings often dominate the city skyline, leaving  a futuristic and overwhelming impression. Through my work, I transport viewers into a picturesque time capsule, inviting them to peer into a visionary world. This project aims to explore these spaces’ subtleties and similarities without being overtly political.
