I wanted to create a children's book that would encourage political engagement and solidarity from a young age. I thought children would be able to engage more with a story about strike action as they are likely to have experienced this at some point in their lives already, be it transport or school strikes. The book conveys the power of civil disobedience and political literacy, using Luna's day off to communicate how progress and the strive for equality is often messy and disruptive.
