James Ross

Throughout my work I try to balance surreal, vibrant imagery with darker, more serious themes whilst still maintaining a sense of fun.

Recently I have been developing a world-building narrative project set in a city built on the side of a giant Coca-Cola bottle. The project follows the lifespan of the city through the eyes of a young family, illustrating how each member of the family develops an unhealthy and ultimately destructive relationship with the fizzy drink beneath their feet.

Driven by my fascination with the absurdities of consumer culture, this project aims to highlight how at ease with become with our unsustainable lifestyles in a unique and entertaining way.
