My Practice is influenced by subcultures, individuality and an interest in archiving forgotten memories. With each aspect I strive to add a playful twist which makes them compelling, whilst also treating the subject matter with the respect it deserves. My degree show project follows this practice by creating an alternative reality in which the story of ‘The Ba’ Green’ has continued into present day, allowing it to reflect the ultra’s subculture of modern football. My work playfully shows how ultras are interpreted by society whilst also telling the story of a rivalry between two towns, in two nations, the foundation of which shaped the border between Scotland and England. As an Ultra will leave their mark of territory, so too will the outcome of the game leave its mark on history.
